Our second-grade children received their First Holy Communion at the Sanctuary of Starunnia, near Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. It was truly a day of grace. These children received Jesus for the first time in the Holy Eucharist, and we ask Him, together with His most holy Mother, to keep them faithful to the grace they received on this day, and never to lose it. For in the end, Our Lord gives us the only measure that really matters: “What gain, then, is it for a man to win the whole world and ruin his life?” — Mark 8:36 Here in Ukraine, we know the weight of war: the deaths, the sorrow, the fear, and the heavy burden carried by so many families. And yet we are convinced that one gram of God’s grace weighs more than all the sins and sorrows of the world. For this reason, this day was not only a day of grace, but a day of immense joy. We entrust these children, their families, and all the children of Ukraine to your prayers.
