About us

We are not an ordinary school where children only learn math, chemistry, literature, or biology. Instead, we are a school where they learn how to live — a place filled with the true spirit of family, where forgiveness is learned and lifelong friendships are made.

In our lessons, we don’t just deliver a set of facts; we strive to cultivate a love for Truth in our students.

Our teachers make an effort to find a personal approach to each student, generating their curiosity and interest.

Beyond regular classes, we offer calligraphy, encouraging children to appreciate real beauty.

A special subject here is the art of reading — a relaxed and cozy space where kids enjoy reading, learning to savor stories and develop a lifelong habit of reading with pleasure.

We also offer classes in catechism and philosophy, which help shape their worldview.

Through these teachings, we hope children will come to know and love the Truth, and remain faithful to it throughout their lives.

At Msgr. Sofron Dmyterko School

Our goal is to raise good Christians, leaders, and patriots—people of great character. We draw inspiration from Jesus Christ, who showed us how to live in the world while remaining true to the Truth.

1. Our school bears the name of a steadfast witness of faith—Msgr. Sofron Dmyterko. We aspire for it to be a living monument honoring this emeritus Msgr. of Ivano-Frankivsk, who lived, worked, and endured imprisonment because of his faith and deep love for Ukraine.

Primarily, he was a man of great culture and education, fluent in Latin and Greek. Msgr. Sofron Dmyterko was a remarkable, wise, and holy person who led the Ukrainian Church through dark times of persecution.

He achieved all this because he was unwavering and faithful to his principles. His figure is well-known and cherished in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, making him a great role model for the youth of these lands.

We aspire for generations of men and women with clear minds—deeply rooted Catholics, faithful children of their local church, worthy descendants of Ukraine’s saintly martyrs. They should be the kind of people who can defend the Truth, even at the cost of their own lives, and passionate patriots committed to preserving and passing on Ukraine’s great traditions.

2. We want to create a school for princes—individuals who live by their principles, direct their hearts toward noble deeds, and care about the greater good. These are people who set their own rules and follow them, who, possessing self-control, can give themselves fully. They are those who see in every moment the things worth living—and even dying—for.

They are capable of giving freely what is not forced upon them, and of refusing what is not forbidden. They perceive life as an honor.

3. Our students receive a humanities education. We want our children not merely to study for grades but to acquire genuine knowledge, to become professionals regardless of their chosen field. Above all, we strive for them to think critically and to thirst for the Truth.

Studying classical languages—Latin and Greek—greatly enhances this process. These languages nurture a child's thinking, imagination, and creativity, helping them grasp the true essence of things. Additionally, they profoundly deepen their understanding of their native language. Our students also delve deeply into English, history, and philosophy, broadening their horizons and enriching their minds.
